How to make Sugar Crystals

LEARNING OUTCOME 1: SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS

MATERIALS NEEDED:
 sugar (quarter cup full)  glass
 food colouring  pencil or stick
 string / wool  tea spoon
 glass of water  
 
HOW TO MAKE YOUR SUGAR CRYSTALS: (See photos below)
 
STEP :

Pour water into a glass (three-quaters full).

STEP :

Start adding sugar, spoon-by-spoon while stiring.

STEP :

Keep stiring and adding sugar until the sugar does not dissolve anymore.

STEP :

Tie the piece of string or wool in the middle of a pencil.

STEP :

Place the pencil over the glass, allowing the string to hang into the sugar water.

STEP :

Now leave your glass in a warm, dry, sunny place so that the water can evapourate.

STEP :

Keep watching and you will see beautiful sugar crystals developing along the string or wool.

STEP :
